Electronic Control Module (ECM)

The Blendtech Electronic Control Module (ECM) Truck Mounted Smart Controller determines injection rates by analysing product flow and records inventory information in the ECM transaction logs. Unique to Blendtech, the EMC uses continuous injection to increase product quality and reduce costs of ownership. Continuous injection requires the control module to continuously determine the optimal injection size and interval required to output the desired treatment rate for the duration of the loading process. The ECM has an integrated Injector Block (MiniBlock) with a built-in meter, solenoid valve, needle valves, strainer and Calibration port. This block is designed with unique mechanical components that allow an electronic microprocessor to control the injection rates with a high degree of accuracy. The ECM also supports Blendtech’s Blendcomm Management and Control Software Package which adds advanced control features such as BOL generation, remote authorization and on-line inventory.

Inventory Control

The ECM, accompanied by an additive tank level sensor, offer full inventory monitoring of product added or removed from the storage tank and records all data in the transaction log. The ECM can also be programed to inhibit the transfer of product if there is insufficient additive or dye in the storage tank to compete the blend. Additional information, such as delivery data, product selection, security and preset data, can be stored in the unit’s nonvolatile memory and prompted on the integrated in truck display.

Toptech MultiLoad/ SMP/ RCU

Blendtech is a system integrator for Toptech Systems and has participated in the commissioning and installation of hundreds of Toptech products worldwide. Toptech’s data management systems and controllers, accompanied by our injectors, loading racks and trans loaders, provide high tech, turnkey solutions for the petrochemical and chemical industry.

Toptech MultiLoad II

Toptech MultiLoad II

The Toptech MultiLoad II preset provides a multi-solution approach to control loading, dispensing and tracking of fuel and additive substances. The MultiLoad II is capable of controlling 12 loading arms with up to 16 additives per arm. This reduces facility costs by replacing anywhere from 1-12 preset and meter registers that would be required to perform the same operation.

Toptech MultiLoad II SMP

Toptech MultiLoad II SMP

The Toptech MultiLoad II Single Meter Preset (SMP) offers control of one loading arm with up to two additives. This controller offers an economical alternative for smaller loading operations, without sacrificing many of the key features of the standard MultiLoad II.

Toptech RCU II.png

Toptech RCU II

The RCU II is Toptech’s easy to use, driver/operator interface that enhances system security with keycard access control measures. The RCU II is programmed to implement control measures such as access to entry and exit gates, load racks, BOL request stations, as well as any other options required by a customer.

Accessories & Add-on Products

Communications Controller

The Blendtech Communications Controller Module is a smart controller that is designed to improve communication activity for two-sided loading racks. For a two-sided loading rack, two separate Flow Control Modules (FCM’s) communicate with one loading arm that swings to both sides. Traditionally, relay switches were used to transfer communication between the two sets of FCMs and a common MultiLoad. In order to improve communication and eliminate errors, Blendtech designed a smart device to replace the relay switches. This allows the system to properly cut communication between the arm and the first FCM before switching to communicating with the other FCM.

The BTCC module is a (4) channel RS485 unit, mountable to the panel DIN rail. The BTCC has 6 “undedicated” inputs which can be read by the Multiload through the FCM communication channel. These can be used for status in a larger Multiload system.  Since this is a very versatile product, we are currently asking customers to provide details about their interface requirements and protocols required and we will tailor the module to the specific needs.

PCM 7

The Blendtech Pulser Calibrator Module (PCM) enhances performance of an optical shaft encoder when used with a flow meter. The unit eliminates incorrect counting due to vibration by allowing reverse direction flow pulses. These pulses can stack up to 255 pulses in the reverse direction and prohibit forward pulses until the count is zero. The module is a solid-state design, suitable for indoor/outdoor use and hazardous areas. With the PCM installed, flow meters have a calibration factor of either 1.5999 to 0.0100 or 0.15999 to 0.00100.

PCM 8

The PCM 8 builds on the success of our PCM 7. The PCM 8 is a DIN mounted pulse calibration module and electronic break, housed in a plastic enclosure.  The module supports quadrature inputs, scaled pulse outputs andsupports Modbus/RTU to retrieve registers within the module. In prover mode the module can provide multipliers of x1, x2, x4 or x6 with a proportional duty cycle dependant on the input signal. The output can also be set to be filtered and outputs a 50% duty cycle dependant on the input frequency.

Through internal DIP switch settings, the unit features:

·     Clock-wise and counter clock-wise rotation

·     Prover or heat-beat output on XOUT

·     Various output levels – Open Collector

·     +5V rail to rail or supply voltage rail to rail output

·     Encoder input accepts both +5Volt and supply voltage signals

Metering Prover Controller

The prover controller was created as a replacement for the counter component of the prover system.  New IOL standards require double chronometry to be implemented within the controller in order to use both the absolute pulse train and 2 timers to factor in the partial pulse count. The predecessor counter simply counted the number of pulses received based on a gating signal from the prover. The new system will be able to measure the time and number of pulses per cycle and extrapolate a faction of a pulse. This controller reduces the number of gallons of product that is required to pass through the prover, reducing time and costs when verifying flow meter uncertainty.

Ground Verification System “Ground Grabber”

Traditional truck grounding systems use a clamp to attach the truck to the load rack.  These clamps are functional, however if drivers fail to remove them after loading, they can cause extensive damage to the loading rack as they drive away.  The BLENDTECH Ground Grabber is designed to disconnect from the truck if the grounding wire is put under tension.  When connected, the Ground Grabber creates a solid connection between the truck and loading rack to dissipate any static charge and facilitate safe custody transfer.  The device indicates whether the truck is grounded or not with a green light (grounded) and red light (disconnected).  If the driver fails to remove the ground grabber and the connection wire is pulled, the ground grabber will move into a position that allows the connection pin to slide free of the device resulting in no damages occurring to the load rack.

Spectrum Colour Verification

For taxation dye or colourant programs the presence or absence of dye is a growing concern. Our company solves these issues with a unique colour verification system called Spectrum, that constantly analyses the colour of the product to determine how much dye is present or absent in the fuel.  Spectrum uses the entire visible light spectrum to determine the colour of the fuel. While traditional colour verification systems have accuracy issues depending on the clarity of the fuel, Spectrum accurately determines the colour of the fuel by targeting the specific wavelength of light absorbed by the dye marker.   This provides a true colour analysis of the product to ensure fuel is being dyed when it should be or prevents the colouring of already dyed fuel.
